Indonesia Is Asia Copyright Pirate Center: Survey
A recent survey by the Hong Kong-based Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (PERC) has found that Indonesia has the worst record among Asian nations when it comes to protecting intellectual property rights. After surveying nearly 1,300 expatriate managers between June and mid-August, PERC gave scores of zero to 10, with zero being the best and 10 being the worst, to denote how well countries were protecting intellectual property rights. Indonesia was given a score of 8.5 because it is failing to enforce its intellectual property protection laws, and because piracy levels in the country are the highest in the world.
